Georgetown’s Favorite Holiday Tradition:
A Celtic Christmas

Saturday, December 9 at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 10 at 4:00 p.m.

The holiday season isn’t officially underway until A Celtic Christmas comes to Georgetown! A beloved holiday tradition for all of Dumbarton’s forty years, the show features Linn Barnes & Allison Hampton on lute, Celtic harp and other instruments; flutes and pipes by Joseph Cunliffe; and percussion by Steven Bloom. Barnes and Hampton became interested in Celtic music through the works of 18th century Irish composer Turlough O’Carolan and as their interest grew, so did their instrumentation. Ms. Hampton has focused on a variety of harps, while Mr. Barnes now plays the lute, guitar, harp-guitar, cittern, and Irish pipes. They tour worldwide but always return to DC for this special program!

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this wonderful trio! The Celtic Tenors have toured the world, performing in venues large and small but always delighting their audiences. James Nelson, from Sligo, has had more than 50 roles in opera and operetta for companies in Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Israel, and others. Daryl formed the Omagh Community Youth Choir, bringing young people together to promote peace and reconciliation through music.  Whether it's a rendition of beautiful Celtic songs like the haunting Danny Boy or exhilarating classics like Nessun Dorma, the Celtic Tenors are known for their professional, sparkling and good humored performances.  The Program varies but always delights!
