Concert Gallery
Greetings. The Dumbarton Concert Gallery has a 30 year tradition of exhibiting the work of professional Washington area visual artists. As the new curator, I'm excited about the upcoming season and the opportunity to bring outstanding art exhibits to such a sophisticated concert audience. A new art exhibit will be mounted and previewed before each of the 8 concert offerings . The Concert Gallery provides a unique opportunity to artists who do not currently have exclusive gallery representation. If you are an artist or know someone who is interested in showing in our Gallery, please contact me directly by email: ginnybarnes@juno.com or come find me in person while you are attending any concert performance. I look forward to meeting you.

Junko Yamada - Paper Collage
April 10-17
Opening reception April 10 6pm-8pm

By portraying modern subjects in vibrant colors, Junko Yamada creates unique artworks in a traditional Japanese art form. Her collages are composed with thousands of pieces using fine rice paper in the tradition of ' Harie', a style that dates back centuries in Japan. Born in Kyoto, she grew up along the Pacific coast of Japan and studied art in the U.S. She has been chosen as the official artist of the 2010 Cherry Blossom Festival. We are honored to exhibit a range of her work in conjunction with this annual event devoted to the natural beauty of Springtime in our Nation's Capitol. |
